3D Product Shot
To create a 3D product shot of a nail polish bottle, I first began by creating a document measuring 1100px x 1100px . Then, I drew an ellipse and filled it with a grey color. I then pressed alt+ctrl+shift and dragged another copy of the ellipse down and drew a rectangle in between both and filled that with gray. This created the basic bottle shape. Then I dragged another ellipse to the bottom of the bottle and filled it with a deeper red color. Then I drew a box connecting the two circles again and filled it with the bright red color. I then locked the transparency and then chose the gradient tool to add some dimension. I then added some effects to the glass. For the cap, I again drew two ellipses and a rectangle, followed by using the gradient tool to add a shadow. I imported the text from Illustrator and warped it so it curved a little. Then, I added a couple highlights on the cap and bottle and cut out the cap grooves to make it look more realistic. I added clouds and a frame to make the bottle pop even more.  This was a time consuming project for sure.
Placing 3D in a photo- To create 3D text, I began with choosing a background to lay my text on. A beachy scene seemed appropriate, and then I chose the word serenity because that's what the scene evoked. Using the text tool, I wrote the word out and then went under the 3D menu to extrude from the selected layer to make the letters 3D. Then I opened the 3D panel, and I dragged the word up a little bit. I then set the extrusion depth to 25 in the 3D panel. Under Image based light in the panel, I chose new texture which I copied. In the properties panel, I adjusted the shine, reflection, and roughness. I then diffused the color on the sides of the word to separate the letters from the background. I clicked on split extrusion in the 3D menu and I was able to individually adjust each letter.
